At NJV ATHENS PLAZA, sustainable and responsible behavior is a priority! We are committed to continuing the three-pronged approach of environmental and social responsibility that we have carved out in recent years.

NJV Athens Plaza is the first Hotel, Member of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, in Europe.
Sustainable Tourism is defined as "Tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities."
The GSTC engages with a worldwide network of members, who represent a wide range of tourism stakeholders. Being a GSTC member means actively participating in our global community, contributing to the important work of the GSTC in promoting the widespread adoption of universal sustainable tourism principles. GSTC Members are active drivers for sustainability in travel and tourism.
Mr. Roi Ariel, President of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, highlighted: "We are glad to have NJV Athens Plaza as an active GSTC Member. Through the acknowledgement of the principles of sustainability, NJV Athens Plaza was positively evaluated for its strategy, activities and results according to the EarthCheck Evaluate Standard, which is a GSTC Recognized Standard. As such, they lead the way and inspire other hotels to follow sustainability practices and be certified for their activities".
Being a member of the GSTC, highlights the Hotel's commitment to protecting and preserving natural and cultural resources, while ensures that Tourism is contributing to poverty reduction.

- We use the ecofriendly linen washing programs, while highly concentrated cleaning products ensure a sustainable cleaning without solid and chemical wastes.
- We seek to involve our guests in the environmental activities of our hotel, suggesting to them, for example, to have their sheets and towels changed every 2 days instead of on a daily basis.
- We use biodegradable toilet paper.
- We implement the electronic lock system (key cards) in our rooms for automatic power off when Guests depart
